God’s House
What is the house of god and where is it? Last night I watched a movie on the Vision channel called The Last Temptations of Christ. Now this is a movie that had someone else’s take on the way Jesus Christ’s life might of went or experienced. There was one spot in this movie that stood out at me and that was when Jesus went into the temple at Jerusalem and saw that the house of God was turned into a market for trading money. Now the high priests had an explanation for allowing all of this to go on and this is where it stood out for me. The explanation was, this was the only way that they could keep worshiping God there because you see the market was the way they could keep paying their taxes to the Romans.
Now doesn’t that sound familiar? Is that not how we live today? The way I look at it is the earth is God’s home or house and we have these markets all over it. Destroying it for what? a dollar. A dollar comes from the earth too you know. We just destroy a plant to get that dollar and what does the dollar really do for us but pay our taxes and buy nice things that we really could do without. In a sense that dollar does nothing. Now what does that plant do for us? Yes it’s a beautiful creation of God but that plant gives us the air we need or else we do not live. We as humans choose to destroy what we need to live for something that does not really matter in the end. God has given us every thing you need in life, we just got to stop destroying it for something that controls power.
The earth is God’s home our house. Just look around you, the trees, the flowers, the mountains, the birds and the list goes on. Is that not beautiful enough to know that you are in God’s house? You do not need to go to a building to worship God, you don’t even have to worship him or her which ever way you want to look at it. All you have to do is believe in God and respect and love all his or her’s creations and be thankful for everything that is in your life.
Thank You and God Bless.
